Andy Mills
Hello there, my name is Andy Mills, I am the Head Chef at the Viking Hotel in Blackpool.
I left school in June 1972 and having spent the first 15 months at the Clifton Hotel at Talbot Square as a Commis Chef, I left to accept the same position at the Claremont Hotel under the French Head Chef, Patrice.
After finishing my training I worked in every department in the kitchen so I gained essential knowledge and experience of how a hotel kitchen works.
In 1982 I was promoted to Sous Chef under the then Head Chef, John Jackson. I held that position until 1994 when the opportunity arose to accept the Head Chef’s position here at the Viking Hotel. I’m now in my 15th year here and 36 years with the company.
The menu comprises of both international and traditional cuisine and is well balanced offering a varied choice for vegetarians. We use as much fresh produce as possible and take great care in preparation and cooking of the dishes we make.
My spare time is spent with my family, I also enjoy photography, swimming, rock music and I am I bit of an aviation enthusiast.
